About Dr. Shishir Shetty

Prof. Dr. Shishir N. Shetty is a distinguished Surgical Oncologist with over 24 years of experience in the field. Specializing in Robotic and Minimal Invasive Cancer Surgery, Dr. Shetty has a particular interest in surgeries involving the trachea, pancreas, and organ preservation.

Dr. Shetty has served in various prestigious roles, including Director of Oncology at Fortis Hospital and Head of Oncology Services at Apollo Hospital. He currently practices as a Consultant at Fortis, Medicover, and Reliance Hospitals, and is the Professor and Head of the Department of Surgical Oncology at Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital & Research Center. Additionally, he is the President of the Mumbai Surgical Society for 2024-25.

Recognized as the first qualified Surgical Oncologist from Tata Memorial Hospital, Dr. Shetty has made significant contributions to cancer treatment and research, performing approximately 10,000 cancer surgeries.
